Hello it's me! Buster

Just to let you know I am off to Cornwall and have prevailed upon Sarah-Jane and Mr.Lane to drive me there, they are very obliging. I shall be partaking in long late summer walks, lots of swimming and general larks.....I will let them know when I want to come home, maybe in a week or so!

Shh, don't tell Buster-Boodle, it's me Sarah! I just wanted to tell you that this beautiful painting is by Joanne Short, one of my very favourite artists, it's called" Helford Flags and Flowers". The house is on the Helford so I particularly like this one. I love her strong use of colour and the patterns she creates.All that red against a cerulean sea and a lemon sky! You can see more of her work here.

Cornish eye candy

 

 Ah hello!

Home from the land of pasties, beach barbecues, boating, hydrangeas and agapanthus growing like weeds, fishing villages, birthday bashes, regattas, Boodle walks, swimming and "Rattler".....all this has conspired to make me feel rather crook! I am feeling very sorry for myself today but suspect the bushy tail will be back imminently.

Hope you are all squeezing every ounce of High Summer too wherever you are?

Due West

Off to our beloved Cornwall for a summer sojourn, stopping off in Devon to see Magpie on the way. Back when the weather has defeated us! How long is a piece of string!

"Caer" to join me.........

......for a stroll around Caerhays Estate?

Apparently the garden is about two weeks off being at it's very best!
Well I must say I was so drunk taking in the camelias, magnolias and rhodies that were already magnificent I don't think I could have coped with much more splendour in one afternoon.

Home again with Cornish spoils!

MIL's garden has almost as many Camelias as Caerhays and so the car was filled to the brim with them as we left. I have filled jugs, vases, bottles and mugs.......

When we arrived home an Australian parcel was awaiting adorned with flora from another continent, how amazing!

Heading West

"Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again"

Heading West, to Devon to see Magpie and then on to western tip of this our island to bathe in camelias and rhodedendrons and blow out a few more candles!
