Great Dixter

On a damp, soft, overcast day almost a year ago we visited Great Dixter. It was luminous in the heavily saturated air, the greens were greener and heavily laden with droplets...the flowers were singing their colours...from their nests and bowers the birds chimed in...like an orchestra in full triumphant flow.

  5. Good Afternoon Sarah-Jane, Great Dixter is on my list of gardens to visit. What surprised me was how much greenery and how many flowers there were. I look at my garden today and you would think it was December. Thank you it was a joy to look at the photographs.
    Best Wishes

  6. Hi Sarah-Jane,
What a lovely garden! Makes me so anxious for the cold and grey to lift and for spring to work her magic. Our winter is hanging on here in Boston. But guess what? I am flying to London this week with my oldest two kiddos. I know you love the Big Smoke and I wonder if you have any tips for places that I just should not miss? Also, I would LOVE to make it out to the countryside while we are in England, but we are only there for 5 days....is there a quick day trip (accessible by train) to somewhere lovely, that you would recommend?
    Best, Jennifer

This is on my wish list this year - along with Perch Hill! All I have to do is persuade the hubby and kids that it will be a fabulous day out.

  17. Visiting your blog is like falling down the rabbit hole. I am amazed at the beauty in all of your photographs. Can this be really real, or are they Photoshopped to become this perfect world? Amazing!!!
